Faith Community, Leaders Speak Out for Building Code Updates
/in Earth & Faith, Faithful Citizenship, Featured Articles, NEWS /by adminMembers of the faith community and organizational leaders spoke at today’s Building Code Hearing in support of adopting the full 2021 New Mexico Residential Energy Conservation Code and Commercial Energy Code updates. These updates bring critical improvements in energy efficiency which impacts not only our climate concerns but human dignity, quality of life, and public health. After the adoption of the Advanced Clean Vehicle Standards late last year, these codes also bring crucial measures of electric vehicle charging infrastructure which will be so important for making electrification viable for renters and apartment dwellers. Our building codes are profound ways to care for our sacred communities and to recognize everyone as neighbor. Thank you so much to all who raised their voices in support!
Here are some pictures from the hearing.
