Indivisible Nob Hill (INH) will be hosting a screening of the film, “New Mexicans Taking Action on Plastic Waste” during their regular weekly meeting on Monday, May 17, from 5:30 to 7pm.
This 17-minute documentary looks at the plastic waste crisis and how New Mexicans can get involved to find real solutions. Presented by the filmmaker, Greg Polk with an introduction by former Senator Tom Udall, the film looks at the pervasive problem of plastic waste and how it is directly affecting the lives of New Mexicans. And, how, as an Oil & Gas state, we are contributing to it.
Alexis Goldsmith of the Bennington University Beyond Plastics initiative will also join the meeting. She will outline some fearful facts about plastic, but also what we can do to move beyond our dependence on plastic products. It will also talk about the 2021 Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act, (H.R. 2238, S.984) that was introduced by Sen. Tom Udall and co-sponsored by NM CD3 Representative Teresa Leger Fernandez, .
There will be a Q&A at the end.
