The religious freedom case of the San Carlos Apache against the U.S. government (and by extension Resolution Copper) will be heard in 9th District Court, Pasadena CA, on March 21. Leading up to this second hearing, the protectors of Oak Flat (40 miles east of Phoenix) are going in convoy to Native communities on their journey for support and publicity of their right to preserve sacred lands in Tonto National Forest. Monday, March 20 – labyrinth prayer walk in the Rio Grande bosque between I-40 and Campbell Rd. Meet 5pm in the parking lot Gabaldon Pl NW & east side of the river.
Tuesday, March 21 – march from First Congregational UCC at Lomas & Girard Blvd NE to District Court downtown. Gather 8am to walk or 9am to vigil outside the courthouse at 3rd & Lomas NW.
