The BLM will have a 3,000 acre lease auction on-line on public land in the Permian Basin on May 25.
A coalition, including IPL NM & EL, is planning an event to give a letter to BLM regarding No More Sacrifice
Zones and concerns for sacred land, water, air, and climate and our communities and their health.
Join us as we rally in honor of a letter we are sending to the Bureau of Land Management with 200+ signers calling on the agency to cancel its plans to auction off over 10,000 acres of public and ancestral lands for oil and gas extraction on May 24th outside the local BLM office.
Since 2016, our groups have protested in person at BLM offices and delivered millions of public comments challenging BLM oil and gas lease sales, despite BLM moving these oil and gas auctions online.
We continue to call for an end to new oil and gas leasing and drilling across New Mexico, and an end to the federal fossil fuel program, which is responsible for more than one-quarter of U.S. climate emissions.
Join us in delivering the message that continuing to sacrifice public and ancestral lands for more oil and gas drilling is fueling climate chaos and taking a devastating toll on our clean air, pure water, and healthy lands.
