In light of the climate and environmental justice attacks in the FY24 budget proposals, the national IPL policy team wanted to provide an opportunity to learn more background on the appropriations process and ways to get involved. Friends from the League of Conservation Voters and the Trust for Public Land will offer an informal presentation on Aug. 23.

As people of faith, we believe budgets are moral documents. When Congress returns from August recess, the House and Senate will begin negotiating appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2024. Current GOP House appropriations bills are an egregious attack on the agencies and programs that are working to advance environmental justice, deploy clean energy, and protect our neighbors and our Sacred Earth from the threats of climate change.
Please join us for an informal presentation to learn about the basics of the legislative appropriations process on Wednesday, August 23, from 2-3pm ET.
Bart Johnsen-Harris from the Trust for Public Land and David Shadburn from the League of Conservation Voters will provide an introduction to the appropriations process, highlight why it’s important to be involved, and demonstrate ways your affiliate can help advocate for a strong, clean budget.
