Speak out to protect New Mexico from the oil and gas industry’s toxic forever chemicals!

July 13, 2023 @ 12:00 pm

The New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission (OCC) is considering whether to adopt new rules that would ban the oil and gas industry’s use of polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances, also known as #PFAS, and require comprehensive chemical disclosure by oil and gas companies.
At the OCC’s monthly meeting on July 13, 2023, the commission will take public comments — which is our chance to speak out in support of protecting people and ending the oil and gas industry’s free pass to pollute.
Here’s more background and talking points:
The July 13th OCC meeting notice is linked below:
At this meeting, after listening to comments from the public (allowing ~ 1 minute per person), the OCC will decide whether to have a future hearing to consider new oil and gas PFAS rules. This is our chance to express support for a hearing, and to urge the Commission to act without delay!
